My Atlantica Experience = Brilliant. Except his games.
My visit to Atlantica was one of a kind. It was like a form of education to me. I haven’t been to many places but that visit will forever be in my mind. I had planned this visit all summer and I decided to take my 9 year old boy, Chad. I would say that this was one experience that I will not forget for a while.
When we landed in the land, my boy looked a little disappointed. “You tricked me!” he said. He actually thought that we were going to the mythical place called Atlantis where Aqua Man lives. It’s under the ocean so I wonder how he thought we were going to breathe. Anyway, I soon calmed him down with some ice-cream and fun games, works every time.
We got to our hotel room and I was glad they had kept the reservations for over a month. I really liked how friendly the people were, and how good our chemistry was. This is one of those places where you don’t mind living for a while. I also thought that the hotel was really cheap compared to those in America. I guess it has to do with the math, the dollar having more value here. It pays to pay attention in math class, no pun intended. That night I really enjoyed the weather and had one of the best nights that I have had for a while. Chad also didn’t wet his bed, must have been the warm weather.
The Beautiful Atlantica Beach Where We Played Water Games
I did not have a lot planned out for my visit except going to the nearest beach and relaxing. We would sometimes play some beachy games like volleyball, catch or something. If only I had known what awaited me at the end of the visit. By the way my boy was about to turn 10 and that is one of the reasons I decided to drag him along.
Yes, I am still with his mother, it was just men time. Like I had planned, I got our beach attire and headed for the beach. The beach was a bit crowded but I guess we were already used to that. I really liked the way, the sun felt on my skin there. I know the sun is the same everywhere but this was bizarre. I figured it must have been the constant wind breeze that kept hitting my skin.
Chad really enjoyed himself too. Boys will be boys. I couldn’t get him to relax with me on the beach because he had ‘more important things to do.’ He dived in the water and I was glad that he could swim very well at his age. Still I had to keep an eye on him, lest he wanders off. Some girls tried to flirt with me, but I knew better. I think faithfulness is really important.
The Spectacular Eats
After the beach, Chad was really tired and hungry because the only thing he had taken was beach food, which he didn’t fancy a lot. Like father like son. We went back to the hotel and ordered the local food. The waiter brought this food that looked so delicious, it was like pieces of arts on a plate, and I couldn’t wait to dig in. My boy was also excited. From that experience I have learned that every time you order new food, ensure that you ask the waiter all the ingredients that were used to make the meal.
We took the first bite in unison and it was the last we would take. Hot chili had been used to prepare the meal like a Science experiment. I must be a really bad parent because I completely forgot Chad was there and gulped almost all the water on our table. The burning sensation still did not go away. Chad looked tougher and I felt a little embarrassed. The waiter explained to me that all the local food is prepared with chili so I couldn’t blame him.
This Was No Game…
On the last day my boy went missing. At that moment I felt like visiting Atlantica had been the worst idea. I looked for him everywhere in the resort but I couldn’t find him. This is the worst hide-and-seek game ever. This is like a Science experiment once again, which the most hardest subject ever to me, I can never figure it out. Chad has never wandered off alone and I feared the worst had happened. Anyway let me not scare you anymore. I found Chad after some hours and he explained to me that he had made some friends and he had told them about his birthday. They decided to help him celebrate his birthday, the Atlantica arts way, and he really had a lot of fun.
I had a wonderful experience in Atlantica but no way am I going to tell his mother about that last day. He should really stop playing these games.
